UGANDA : DMark Power face KCC
Today
Power v KCC Lions 7.30pm
K.Riders v St. Micheal 5:00pm
DMark Power will today look to cement themselves as seed one with the playoff status already secured in the MTN-Fuba league. Already enjoying the summit of the table standings at 33 points, the former champions are looking at exploiting the mistakes made by their opponents. With an opportunity presenting itself today against KCC Lions at YMCA Wandegeya, a game many believe is almost a done deal, but KCC, third from bottom, shouldn’t be a team overlooked in power’s way to victory.
Big forward Isaac Afidra told Daily Monitor that they want to do what the team has not yet done like playing in the basics zonal game rather the usual transitional running game.“We have always played the full press court game and in such games you have luxury of trying out different things and also reserve some energy and also give fringe players chance,” said Afidra.KCC Lions coming off a 70-48 loss to Ndejje will be hoping to put up a fight as their division one league status is already at stake.
Last season KCC survived relegation through the board room after petitioning the National Council of Sports (NCS) to award them points in which their opponents (UCU Canons) failed to honor a fixture but the problem was discovered to originate from the federation’s miscommunication. In the other game, Entebbe-based Knight Riders and fellow relegation candidates St. Micheal will face off in the day’s early encounter.
