MTN-FUBA Playoff
Semi-final
Game 5 at YMCA today
Men’s division 1:
Warriors v Falcons 6pm
Game 3 Men’s division 2
Rhinos v Berkley 4pm
WHO will stand up for the Kyambogo Warriors? Just who will help them break their playoff jinx against the Mountain Dew Falcons?
The two rivals play the decider of their best-of-five MTN-FUBA Playoff semi-finals today at YMCA but surely the Falcons will not condemn the Warriors to playoff heartbreak for the third year running.
Surely the Warriors have had enough, haven’t they?
Of course they have but who will help them make that point. Is it their coach Gad Etau? Is it their star guard Ronnie Kaseu? Or perhaps mid-season signings Abdullah Ramadan and Martin Okwako? Maybe it will be veterans Steven Okias and Brian Gumusiriza?
Someone has to take responsibility for the Warriors and Okias has a pretty good idea of who that will be.
“It’s the team as a whole,” he said. “We have to play as a team, especially on defence. If one person is playing good defence and the other isn’t, it makes no difference.”
Well, it had better work because the Falcons have all the momentum having come back from 2-0 down to level the series. And don’t forget the history.
