Eight teams have made their way to the quarter-final of the FIBA Africa Champions Club for Women holding in Cotonou, Benin Republic.
In group-A First Bank look set to top the group with one game left for the winner of the 2003 edition of the continent most prestigious women club competition, other teams that have made it to the last eight in the group includes, Abidjan Basket Club (ABC), A’Politcnica basketball club of Mozambique and Kenya Port Authority basketball club.
And making the cut in group-B are defending champion Desporti vo who will be playing her last group game against Interclube basketball club of Angola, Club SDportif of Abidjan, CSA and Nigeria First Deepwater are the other teams who have booked their passage in group-B.
First Bank will Wednesday (today) file out against Kenya Port Authority with a view of keeping her unbeaten run intact and remain top of the group as their closest rival in the group, ABC have completed her own group games, the First Bank versus KPA game comes up at 14.00Hour while the group other game for Day-4 proceeding will be between bottom placed Energie basketball club of Benin and A’Politecnica of Mozambique at 16.00Hour.
In group-B the race for the final finishing become keener as the last group games are played Wednesday (today) with Interclube of Angola battling defending champion, Desportivo for the top spot while CSA and First Deepwater fight for who will finish third and fourth.
The Interclube basketball club big match-up against Desportivo comes up at 18.00Hour while CSA and First Deepwater will continue from where they left the rivalry in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire during the FIBA Africa Zone-III elimination with the Nigerian side running away with a slim 57-56 points win will entertain the crowd at 20.00Hour.
