It’s hoops time once again as the MTN-FUBA National Basketball League second round gets underway this afternoon with three games on card.
Following a three-week break that paved way for the Zone V championships, round two resumes with all teams eager to make it to the play-off. The biggest game on card will feature Zone V runners-up Kyambogo Warriors against Falcons.

After their exploits in Zone V, Warriors’ coach Gad Eteu is challenging his troops to make a statement of intent and go a notch better by lifting this year’s league title. “As a group we know everyone will want to beat us but with the maturity and belief these lads have the league title is not out of reach,” said Eteu.

Having edged Falcons (70-67) in the first round, Eteu knows too well how the wounded record champions will respond. “Falcons will be out for revenge because of the two first round losses. It’s a group of experienced and technically aware players and I know they want to prove a point,” Eteu noted. With only Brian Gumisiriza missing, Warriors will be boosted by the return of forward Nelson Wafula, who missed round one.

On the other hand, Falcons welcome back former MVP Sam Obol and star point guard Francis Tumusiime. The pair will add the much needed experience and depth. Miracle will battle KIU in the other men’s game on card.

In the ladies categor,y runaway leaders A-1 Challenge resume their campaign against Makerere Sparks hoping to extend their 10-game winning streak.
