Despite finishing the MTN-Fuba League first round rooted in mid-table, Miracle Eagles are determined to push for a play-offs slot.

The second round gets underway next weekend (August 14-15) with an All-Star extravaganza at YMCA Wandegeya. “You could see that we had started playing well by the time first round climaxed. Hopefully, we shall pick from where we stopped,” former Most Valuable Player (MVP) Boniface Okello said recently.

Even with a massive pre-season recruitment, Miracle struggled to contend with big topflight teams and went into recess with four victories from nine games. “Most of us being new, we definitely needed time to gel. We now know each other very well and should be able to get into the play-offs,” the former Nkumba Marines player noted.

Miracle, who have never finished among the top four play-offs candidates, trail two-time champions Marines by a single point. Reigning champions DMark Power lead the table standings with a maximum 18 points after winning all their nine games followed by Warriors on 17 and Falcons (16).

To stand a realistic chance of making the play-offs, Miracle will need at least two upset victories against the leading teams and hold off the trailing opponents.
