Even in defeat, KCC Lions showed glimpses of brilliance – especially in the first two quarters - against Falcons in their MTN-FUBA National Basketball League on Wednesday.

Falcons led by three (36-33) at the interval before cruising home (81-58) but KCC must surely be upbeat for their game against KIU at YMCA Court, Wandegeya this evening. KIU are seventh while KCC are ninth in the 10-team league.
However, Charles JJ and Alex Mugoya who stood out with nine points apiece, will not find it any easier playing against Orom Makmot– arguably the best player outside top three teams.
“We must win games during the second round because there is still a chance of making the play-offs and there is still a long way to go,” KIU coach Nimrod Kaboha said.

However, there are several hurdles for KIU to clinch fourth place which is currently occupied by Nkumba Marines with Ndejje University Angels and Miracle Eagles in fifth and sixth respectively.

In the women’s category, defending champions UCU Lady Canons face Makerere Cubs while debutants Magic Stormers clash with stuttering record winners Lady Bucks.
