UGANDA : Power, Warriors face fines ahead Fuba League start

Tomorrow at YMCA
Men: Power v Miracle(8pm)
Women: UCU v A1 (6pm)

Champions Power and Warriors face fines after failing to submit their squads in time for the MTN-Fuba League tip-off tomorrow.
Each club has to pay an extra Shs50, 000 upon registration of the 18-man roster as per the league rules.

“I think the law, in its present state, is very weak. The penalty has been abused because it’s minimal,” William Musaazi, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (Fuba) technical head, said in an interview.
He further argued that; “if the penalty was higher, clubs would strive to beat the deadline. The rules give a 14-day window before the league and failure to do so invites a fine.”

He also confirmed that Power and Ndejje University Angels had submitted their teams before opting to recall them to make changes.
That list didn’t have Norman Blick who joined Miracle Eagles in March. Ndejje are still locked in a fight for centre Brian Ssentongo, currently with Miracle.

“Falcons have made a request to sign some foreign players. I think that’s what is holding them back now,” Musaazi illuminated.
