Just when Heaters might have thought about turning the corner in the MTN-Fuba League Division One, a clash with champions DMark Power at YMCA court today may not be ideal. Being the only team yet to win a game in the division, Heaters could be in for their tallest mountain climb yet.

In losing to Ndejje University Angels, Miracle Eagles and Kyambogo Warriors, coach Brian Wathum – former assistant at Power – has barely looked competitive. On the flipside, they show lots of exuberance often calling one another by names of American NBA stars like Boston Celtics’ Rajon Rondo and LA Lakers’ centre Andrew Bynum.

The biggest culprits of this being Derrick Olama and Dickson Asiko. This should be part of the belief that got them promoted from Division Two last year behind Charging Rhinos. For Power, Joseph Ikong, last season’s top scorer, will appear in his first game this term following a lengthy trip away with family.

Coach Bernice Ankunda had planned to give his reserves valuable time last week but this was scampered by the fight Rhinos’ put up before losing 77-75. This should be another chance for guard Emmanuel Enabu to help MVP Ben Komakech get a breather.
