NEWLY appointed Falcons basketball club president, Denis Mbidde will be basking in joy all season long after landing a deal worth sh160m with Crown Beverages, the bottlers of 7-Up and sister products.

In an interview, Mbidde revealed that they had reached an understanding with 7-up as their new sponsor this year, coming with sh160m that will be used for players’ wages and Falcons events.
Brand manager Timothy Luzinda confirmed that the sponsorship deal is already in place. The team actually donned the new jerseys on Sunday night.
Trophy-less for the last three seasons, Uganda’s club with a record six league titles switched to mediocre mode both on the domestic and regional levels but Mbidde promises a renaissance.

Meanwhile, UCU Lady Canons’ new recruit Peace Nakirijja could face a ban for pouring water on referee John Omondi after he made a controversial call in the game between the Falcons and Nkumba Marines on Sunday.
