CHAMPIONS D-Mark Power return to the basketball league against Heaters today in a game of contrasting fortunes.
Power, spurred by experienced players including last season’s MVP Ben Komakech and Isaac Afidra, are eyeing a third straight win against a team struggling to do so.
The champions are favourites to carry the day against a side that has lost it’s first two games.
The two clubs have enjoyed a close relationship in the last three years but this will count for nothing with each side chasing victory.
During that period, Heaters, who were in the second division, served as a feeder side for Power.
This ended with Heaters’ promotion to the top flight.
Heaters will again look to Charles Babumba, Moses Okwera and Derrick Mbusi for inspiration in what promises to be another key test.
But Power’s coach Barnes Ankunda said the friendship will be maintained but victory will go to his team. KCC face the Gladiators in the women’s top game.
