Kenya will host this year East & Central Africa Inter-Cities Championship from April 19 to 23, 2011 at the Nyayo National stadium Gymnasium.
Several teams from the region have confirmed their participation among them.
Kenya plans to field six teams Nairobi City (Men and Women), Mombasa City (Men and Women) and the Universities combined team both Men and Women.
Tanzania could also be sending six teams both men and women from Dar es Salaam, Mwanza and Arusha, Uganda,Somalia and Sudan hope to send two teams each.
However entries are still expected from teams from Lusaka (Zambia), Tanga (Tanzania), Harare (Zimbabwe) Entebbe and Jinja both from Uganda.
Nairobi City Basketball teams will be defending both the men and women trophies. The women’s team defeated Kampala City 86-67 while the Nairobi men’s team were 84-77 victors over Dar es Salaam in the last edition held in 2007.
