Making their debut for Hoops were, Akpabio J, Pobi E, Soule I, Joseph L, Ikeh C and Okomefua A. The new look of the team had many fans at the venue going wow as the starting lineup was averaging 6’5” in height, which seems the biggest lineup in the league.
Been the first game and most of the players playing together for the first time, the game started with Meme F, throwing down the first dunk from a jump ball possession. That had the crown on their feet. From there it was rather a slow and calculative maneuvers as both sides look to take advantage. Hoops which trademark is defense for the season played spectacular 2-3 and 3-2 defense which checked the Fire team from freely attacking the basket and had to rely on outside shooting. There were out rebounded and a lot of blocks each time they enter the paint area.
By the end of the third quarter, darkness came in and both teams played under the light at the Prisons court. The poor light quality might have caused the progressions of the game as a lot of turnovers due to low visibility.
Meme F led all scorers with 16pts and 5 assts. The next match up is against Warriors on April 2, at the Prisons Court, Cantonment, Accra
