Last Sunday is probably a night that Miracle Eagles are still reeling from as a 79-73 loss to Kyambogo Warriors ended their faint MTN-Fuba League play-off hopes.

They made so many strides to get this far but must do it all over again next season. Shoulders have fallen but coach Brian Rugyendo must pick his side up for Miracle’s rescheduled clash with Mountain Dew Falcons at YMCA court, Wandegeya this evening in a re-scheduled encounter.

Both sides have their destinies decided making this a near-formality fixture. “Everyone was obviously disappointed because we did whatever we could though things didn’t go our way,” Rugyendo told Sunday Monitor.

A near-perfect second round was rendered irrelevant by a poor first round when Miracle lost five of their opening 11 games to make it hard to make the play-0ff. The signing of two-time MVP Stephen Omony changed the Rubaga-based side’s fortunes.
“It’s not our expectation as our target was the postseason. I think on the whole, games we lost in the first round left us with no room for error,” Rugyendo added.

On the flipside, this is a ‘derby’ as the two teams train at the Makerere main grounds. Falcons can take nothing for granted as they still have to hold off Warriors for third place.
Richard Osano Omondi has been stellar for the six-time champions but coach Robert Mureithi is backing on the return of Mike Buzangu following illness.

In the early game, Warriors can heap pressure on Falcons with victory over Knight Riders. Their mental strength will be tested against the champs as they walked off against KIU on Wednesday citing the lack of the 24-second stop clock.
