Sport can be so cruel and one of either Miracle Eagles or Kyambogo Warriors will attest to that notion this evening in the MTN-Fuba League. After so much hard work over the past six months, their fate in regard to play-offs is to be decided in just 40 minutes.
There are several subplots within which make the bigger picture hazy. Has Gas Eteu, the Warriors’ coach, finally found not only to make his stars finally perform like champions?
With three MVP crowns between them, who of Miracle’s Stephen Omony and Warriors’ Ronnie Kasewu will have the last laugh? Warriors are slightly bigger but how decisive will size be today?

Eteu’s counterpart Brian Rugyendo has used speed effectively. Does he need more than just that? YMCA court, Wandegeya must provide almost all the answers as reputations will be shattered and raised in equal measure.
“It’s a chance for us to sort this out ourselves,” Rugyendo said after watching Warriors authoritatively defeat Power 79-70 last Friday. He cannot be disenchanted as barring their loss to Power, their second round has been satisfactory thus far.

Centre Brian Ssentogo and guard Colin Mukiza have aided the improvement that included beating Warriors 59-56 at the Fiba Zone V Club Championships in Burundi.

That won’t matter at all as Eteu has spent a big part of the last 10 days appealing for desire from his team. Steven Okias repaid the faith 24 points against Power to join Abdullahi Ramadhan in the free-scoring zone.

Meanwhile St. Michael-Power will act as a precursor. On Friday night, with only five players at the start, KIU Titans managed to hold off UCU Canons 63-60.

Three others showed up later with Abraham Juma showing his teammates the way with 23 points, 10 rebounds and sevens assists as UCU’s top spot prospects suffered a minor dent.

In the women’s division, Lorraine Akinyi posted figures of 16-16-5 as UCU Lady Canons pulled away late to defeat KCC Leopards 53-39.
