DON BOSCO’s Lady Lions smashed CMTU 80-48 in the ongoing RBA league, at the Indoor Stadium in Dar es Salaam today.
The victors were irresistible from the word go as, dominating the proceeding almost at will. Lions pace and strength gave their opponent no tangible answer. They took a 22-14 lead at the break.
Lady Lion’s Zakia Kondo scored 19 points, while team mate Amina Ahmed managed 18 points. For CMTU top scorers were Greda Peter and Masalila Said, who netted 19 and 10 points respectively.
Other matches playedyesterday, Pazi laboured to beat in form Oilers 62-61 in the closely contested men’s category match at the same venue. At the breather the scoreboard read 32-25 in favour of Pazi.
The victors’ top scorers were Mohamed Mshale, who posted 23 points, while Lady Ikingula scored 11 points. Lusajo Samuel and Rafael Msongali of Oilers scored 20 and 12 points respectively.
Other men’s match yesterday saw defending champions Savio defeating PT Stars 76-56. Savio started the game slowly, but gained momentum as time went by.
They took a commanding 41-24 lead at the break. George Tarimo was the Savios’ top scorer with 19 points, followed by Sihaka Masudi who scored 13 and Jije Makani with 12 points.
On PT Stars’ side Gwakise Mwasyakyeni broke the record by scoring 20 points, 18 of which he scored from the tree points and Daniel Singano became second with 8 points.
