Faraja Malaki steered Jeshi Stars to defeat MCTU 77-20 in the Dar es Salaam Regional Basketball (RBA) match held yesterday at the National Indoor Stadium.
Malaki who formed a deadly partnership with experienced Jabu Shaaban upfront posted her career record 21 points with Shaaban adding 11 more points for the rejuvenated.
Playing with determination to win, Jeshi Stars finished the first half with impressive 40-10 lead.
They added 37 more points in the remaining two quarters while restricting their opponents to 10-point gain at the period.
Newly promoted CMTU played well especially Masalila Juma and Sophia Ngosha at the centre of the court. Juma managed to score 6 points while Ngosha converted 4 points.
Pazi beat Bias on walkover in the aborted second match of the league. The organisers decided to give Pazi the win after Bias failed to turn up for the encounter.
The third match between Chango�mbe Boys and Chui was the most thrilling encounter of the day.
Chang'ombe United fought bravely to register a slim 70-67 victory over their opponents.Chang'ombe United finished the first half leading 33-29 and maintained their 3-point lead to the final quarter.
Mohamed Makani scored 18 points for the winner while his brother Zaro added 16 points more.
Chui who died bravely scored their points through Doto Charles (24) and Joseph Mbozu who penned 18 points.
