Before the MTN-Fuba League season rolled off, Miracle Eagles were tipped by many to finally break into the top four and make the play-offs.
The Rubaga-based side brought on board several star players including 2001 league top scorer and former MVP Boniface Okello.
But with three rounds of play gone, Miracle are languishing third from bottom on the 10-team topflight table after winning only once. Yet their last outing against Warriors ended in a 112-91 humiliation at the hands of Warriors.
At the moment, its hard to decipher what’s wrong with the abundantly talented Miracle side. “We are very many new players in the team. You know it takes time to gel but we are getting better by the day,” Okello said yesterday.
Miracle take on six-time champions Falcons in their fourth game at YMCA this evening hoping tor reverse that losing trend. “We have tried to work on our errors in training and I believe we can beat Falcons,” Okello said.
Falcons survived a scare in their last outing against UCU Canons, winning 87-83 in overtime, albeit in unconvincing fashion. “We are trying to adapt to new systems as a team but I am sure we’ll get better,” Falcons’ Shs72m signing Stephen Omony said.
“Miracle is a good team but our target is to be on top and that’s what we shall do.”
Warriors face KIU in the day’s last encounter.
