Three years ago, Walker Obedi vowed to take his Ndejje University Angels team into the MTN-Fuba League play-offs at the earliest possible opportunity.

He failed to do that in his first two seasons but expects better when they tip-off this evening against newly-promoted Heaters at YMCA court.

Two sixth place finishes show how much work coach Obedi has to make up to make it into the promised land of the top four.
Ndejje had their moments in beating two-time champions Nkumba Marines and losing to UCU Canons in overtime. “We will put every ounce of energy in fighting for the play-offs. It won’t be easy but we are more determined,” Obedi said ahead of their season bow.

Failure to snatch centre Brian Ssentogo from Miracle Eagles leaves Ndejje with the same problems of failing to dominate the paint.
The return to fitness of forward Moses Otem after an injury ravaged season must greatly heal those flaws inside.
They have improved their depth chart by adding Jeje Chaka, Henry Mugisha and Michael Opolot, all of whom were part of the defunct KCC Lions.
“Last year, I gave up too early. I plan to be stronger as a person and learn from what we have achieved so far,” Obedi said as he prepared for an unknown quantity.
