The country has been selected to stage the FIBA Africa 2010 men club championship.
According to LBF acting president Fred Pratt, the country was given the right to host the showpiece due to its numerous progresses in the game.
Mr. Pratt disclosed the tournament will be played among sixteen teams with recently crowned first division champions Uhuru Kings serving as hosts.
He noted that teams from Nigeria, Ghana, Madagascar, and Namibia among others will showcase in the event.
The LBF acting boss also told Star Sports several top executives from the African basketball governing body, FIBA, including its Zone III president will jet down for the occasion which runs from 1-7 November.
Mr. Fred Pratt has also revealed match officials for the tournament are being drawn from each of the sixteen participating countries excluding Liberia.
He said two match officials will come from each of the countries.
On the issue of why Liberia will not nominate representatives for the event, Mr. Pratt noted the country does not have FIBA approved badge officials.
The handling of the preliminary rounds of the 2010 men club championship to Uhuru Kings comes few months after the country hosted the FIBA Africa Zone 3 U-18 male and female championships.
