THE Namibian Basketball Federation (NBF) continued to restructure basketball administration in the country as it established two new regional committees in Caprivi and Omusati on Saturday.
The two elections were made possible by the support of the Namibia Sport Commission. NBF secretary general Carlos Manuel and Frank Albin of the German Olympic Sports Confederation facilitated the Caprivi election, with NSSU deputy national school sport co-ordinator Rudolph Mupiri also keeping an eye on proceedings.
The members of the new Caprivi Basketball Association committee are Malena Musialela as president, George Simataa as vice president, Grace Mundia as secretary general, Jake Lockwood as treasurer and Kavindja Masathi as development officer.
The committee received basketball equipment including hoops and basketballs.
The NBF also gave new hoops and balls to the Kavango Basketball Association at Rundu. All the equipment was donated by the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany.
At the same time NBF president Ndeulipula Hamutumwa conducted elections at Outapi in the Omusati Region.
The members of the new Omusati Basketball Association committee are Daniel Uriab as president, with Laurence Naupu as his deputy, Leticia Nalita as secretary general, Martha Malanga as treasurer and Malakia Hangala as development officer.
