NIGERIA : DStv PBL: Igben double double earn Union Bank victory

Union Bank basketball club of Lagos forward Godspower Igben was in superb form Friday when he posted a double double of 17 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists to help his side ran ring round over visiting Delta Force basketball club of Asaba in an Atlantic conference week-3 game of the Nigeria DStv Premier Basketball League.

Union Bank BC opened the week-3 pairing with a 25-10 points lead in the first quarter, but the Delta Force players fought back spiritedly in the second quarter forcing their more experience and bigger opponent to make mistake but still went down to the Lagos side by 14-11 points.

The Coach Ayinla Johnson tutored Union Bank side dominated proceeding in the third quarter winning by 24-02 points, the fought quarter proved the most exciting of all the quarters as both side matched each other offensively and defensively but Union Bank BC emerged the lucky side winning by a narrow margin of 24-23 points for a cumulative score-line of 87-46 points to join Royal Hoopers basketball club of Port Harcourt and Dodan Warriors basketball club of Lagos as the only teams in the Atlantic conference to maintain an hundred percent record.

Joining Igben on the scorer sheet are guard, Seyi Ayodele who gave a splendid performance scoring 16 points giving 10 assists and 2 steal; forward Williams Ndounmbe added 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals while former Delta Force small forward, Francis Chris contributed 13 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steal.

Delta Force basketball club duo of Timi Ekiyegha and Ejovi Obukohwo recorded 14 and 11 points respectively.
