Reigning MTN-Fuba League champions DMark Power have lost only once this season. That’s an impressive record that should make their opponents tremble – not UCU Canons – though.

The university side take on Power in their final game of the first round tonight confident they will conjure up a win. “I believe my team is well prepared for the game,” Canons coach Nick Natuhera said yesterday.

UCU Canons are off a commanding 80-69 victory over record champions Falcons. Despite losing to Warriors, Miracle and Ndejje Angels, third-placed Canons know a win tonight will tighten their grip on a play-offs slot.
But with Power welcoming back Isaac Afidra who missed their previous game against Nkumba Marines, Canons must dig deeper to stop the champions.

In the women’s category, KIU Rangers will fancy their chances against former champions A-1 Challenge, whose squad is clearly short on experience this season. Elsewhere, Biston Planets earned a walkover win after City Oil failed to show up for their men’s Third Division fixture on Wednesday.

In the day’s only game, Livingstone suffered a bitter 61-59 loss to fellow Third Division play-offs contenders Emperors at YMCA.
