Mfantsipim School has won the grand finale of the 2010 Sprite Ball Championship for the first time while Sacred Heart cemented their dominance in the girls division on Thursday.
It was an action packed 2-day championship that brought the best out of the players who demonstrated enough firepower on the offensive and showed that their defence network was solid as ever.
Mfantsipim beat bridesmaid in the Ashanti region Prempeh College in an epic final 20-17 while Sacred Heart produced one of the greatest comebacks in the competition’s history to retain their title at the expense Aggrey Memorial in the girls division.
For the oldest school in Ghana, the success over Prempeh was not as good to them as compared to their sweet revenge over Armed Forces.Captain of the side, Edem Quist who was arguably the championship’s best player stole the show at the –El-Wak stadium with some amazing skills and fire power on the offensive.
Koforidua Secondary Technical placed third for the second time after they beat Labone in the third and fourth place match.

Captain of the Cape-coast based side Dyllis Achiaa was in some superb form alongside Kissiwa Sosu, Tilly, Jata Iddrisu and Barbara. They took total control over the game in the first half to take a healthy lead but went asleep in the dying embers of the second half to allow champions to claw back strongly.
Kumasi –based Yaa Asantewaa Girls took the third place after beating Tema Senior High in the third and fourth place match.
